Risk Assessment Training

The risk assessment training course is aimed at anyone with specific responsibility for risk assessments, and will also be beneficial for anyone involved in the risk assessment or risk management process.

The course is designed to give those with risk assessment responsibility a sound footing in the process of carrying out risk assessments. We introduce delegates to the relevant legal framework and current HSE recommended best practice.

Key Areas Of The 1-Day Risk Assessment Course Include:

  • Legislation, moral and legal reasons for Risk assessments.
  • What is a hazard?
  • What is a Risk?
  • Control and management of risk (risk control hierarchy and reasonably practicable)
  • Record keeping and communication
  • Risk assessment process including the HSE Five Steps to risk assessment 
  • Understanding what a suitable and sufficient risk assessment is.
  • Control measures
  • Specific areas of risk control will be discussed (manual handling, fire safety, workplace transport, display screens (DSE), electricity, hazardous substances (COSHH), workplace equipment and slips, trips & falls)
As part of the course, Students will be completing sample risk assessments and participating in group work. Students will be introduced to the Approved Code of Practice for the Management of Health and Safety at Work regulations. All delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.
